Default Casino Bonuses - Be careful!

    Invaders from the Planet Moolah
When depositing at a casino particularly when you open an account, in most cases you are offered tantalising deposit match bonuses.

All well and good, but please ensure that you are fully aware of the terms and conditions attached to the bonus that you are being offered before accepting it ( Note some casinos automatically credit you with a bonus - If this happens and you don't want it, ensure you contact the casino customer services, to remove the bonus, before spending a penny playing ).

With all bonuses expect free chips and redeeming loyalty points, they have attached to them a wagering requirement. There are also normally a number of games that are excluded from counting towards a wagering requirement.

In very rare instances, a casino may not automatically mark your bonus terms as having been met, even if you have met them.

This happened to me today at Circus Casino. I am now awaiting customer services to check my play log and correct this issue.

The temptation to continue playing is there in this instance, but I am ensuring I do not log onto Circus until this issue is resolved and my withdrawal has been actioned.

Important note for new players. If in doubt about whether you have met the wagering requirement on any bonus you have received. Do not continue to action your withdrawal, as you could lose the entire balance accrued whilst playing with the bonus.

This could have happened with me at Circus and I would have lost several thousand $. Therefore if in doubt, call customer services.

Will keep you posted on my issue with circus in this thread.

Be interesting to hear anyone elses experiences when playing with bonuses.

Just had an email from Circus Casino, confirming that I have indeed met the wagering requirement and can now withdraw.

Now if I had not contacted them and just tried to withdraw my balance I would have lost the lot and would be in the process of a lengthy debate with the casino to get my winnings.

As you know - I've been playing with bonuses for over 10-years!

Some softwares have very clear indicators of how much WR you've done or have left to do, while others have nothing!
I any event, I always record all my play on a spreadsheet as I go along (except at WagerWorks or Crypto) so I always know exactly where I am in my WR.

Most casinos have some sort of warning if you try to withdraw early - are you saying that Circus (Playtech) do not?

Yes they did. But there was a bug. I had obliterated the WR and the bonus info showed this to be true. However when I went to withdraw it stated I hadnt met the requirement.

It took a phone call to CS to get them to look into it. They then came back and confirmed it was a bug and I had indeed met the WR.

Thing is if I had carried on to withdraw through the software, it would have nulled and voided all my winnings, as it assumed i had not met the WR.

This would have resulted in a lengthy process no doubt to get my winnings.

Glad you made the call then. But the fact their software had a bug is somewhat inexcusible in itself, in this modern day and age... I've not yet played at any other casino with this problem.

Nobody wants to give money for free - it`s a usual thing when your turnover in a casino should exceed the bonus 100 times to give you permission to withdraw even 1 dollar. Sometimes it`s cheaper not to use bonuses at all than take such "free" money.

Of course, when money is involved, it's another issue to consider. Money is one of the reason why many people play at casino aside from entertainment. So, as you play, you should be careful since, if you have choose a wrong choice, you may have a chance to failed and lost money. Be observer on the casino rules in order to handle your bonuses carefully.
