Default New casino welcome bonus; Criminal?

    Invaders from the Planet Moolah
A new sister casino to SlotoCash opened last week; Desert Nights.

But I was extremely disappointed to see they have gone down the "RTG road" of offering a huge welcome bonus, but which is phantom with massive WR.

This is an extract of what I have just put up on my website:
They have a headline-grabbing “$10,000 free” on their banners, but when you look at the actual detail of the offer it is extremely poor value for money.

This is a ten-part bonus, with the first part being 100% up to $1,000, not only is it Phantom (some call this Sticky), but also it has a ridiculous WR of (D+B)x25. So that means if you took the max you would have to wager $50,000 on games with an average return of 96%. Your average loss is therefore $2,000.

    The maths is simple: Deposit $1000 + Bonus $1000 – Loss $2000 – Phantom bonus $1,000 = -$1000.

Your average expected loss is double the amount of your deposit! In other words, you have virtually ZERO chance of meeting the WR with enough to cash-out even the tiniest of profits. The ONLY way you could win enough to cash-out even 1c profit would be if you got a higher than 100% return on your play during the WR. That being the case, you might as well deposit without a “bonus” and play without the restrictions. In my opinion, Phantom offers with crazy-high WR like this are not “bonuses” at all – they are player traps.

This bonus scores 2.0 on my bonus rating system = well below the point at which I stop recommending that players take the bonuses...
I'm not singling out this new casino, there are loads of other casinos on the net with similar or even worse bonus terms. But in my opinion these bonuses are bordering on criminal, not least due to describing them as a "bonus" (something extra, which you would expect to be good), when in fact all they do is virtually 100% guarantee you will lose your money.

Now I know casinos can offer any incentives they see fit, and of course, players are not forced to take them, but I had the power I would BAN these type of offers from the face of the earth!

Anyone agree with me? or not?
    Comments please!

Heard about this casino this morning. In the morning news - link below:

    New Rival Online Casino

I am not a big fan of bonuses to be honest and if I take them, I want to be able to have a good chance of cashing out if I have a win. So hate with a passion phantom bonuses etc.

I guess this is an attempt to cross market their existing player database at Sloto. Plus another offering for affiliates to push, seeing as Sloto along with Box 24 and maybe one or two others, are the only Rivals worth pushing.

Talking about bonuses, I deposited $125 at Circus Casino on Friday morning and accepted a 50% deposit bonus. I ended up cashing out $4,500. LOL

After I had a super Colleseum Bonus Round on Gladiator, getting my bankroll up to $1000. I then upped my bet size accordingly and along with help from the clams, had a superb run on Great Blue. Thus boosting my bankroll and annihiliating the wagering requirement on my bonus in the process

    Happy Days!

    I got it wrong!

In my post above I said you need to get over 100% RTP to cash-out any profit... but I just checked the fine print and this bonus is much, much WORSE than that!
To cash-out you have to make profit of 2 x the bonus on top of your starting balance = RTP of 104%

That does it - this bonus is only for the insane!

Yikes, that is ridiculous imo. I thought that with them being Sloto Cash sister casino, they wouldn't have ridiculous terms and conditions. I was wrong.

    Cool

Does this bonus work for all games or just slots and blackjack? Anyway, the WR are huge. The game is not worth a candle.

Anything over a 20x deposit + bonus playthrough requirement is crazy and should be avoided. Even 20x deposit + bonus has its issues. One of the casinos I play in has 20x bonus only, which is fairer.

Let's think about it: pay $250, get $250 free. Playthrough 20x bonus.

So $500 bankroll, play $5,000 bets = play through bankroll 10 times.

    10 times @ games average 96% = lose 40%. Of $500, lose 40% = - $200 = cash out $300. Paid $250 so still up.

Another new Rival casino went live last month - and I just checked out their welcome offer...
And this one makes the Desert Nights one look quite good!

How totally crap is this "bonus" offer?!?

    Default That's not a bonus...

    45 x deposit + bonus?

Not a real bonus, just a ripoff... (I think). Avoid, avoid, avoid!
