Gambling Commission releases facts based on licensee reportage

The UK Gambling Commission has published its industry statistics for 2009/10.

In August the Commission announced it was changing the publication date for its annual statistics document from the summer to later in the year. This was to allow a change to fiscal year reporting (1 April to 31 March) for the data released from regulatory returns, so that direct comparisons could be made between all data sets, & to allow more time to ensure the accuracy of the published data.

The document includes facts & figures for 1 April 2009 to 31 March 2010 on activity in the arcade, betting, bingo, casino & lotteries sectors plus data on gaming machines & remote gambling (page 23).

It is based on regulatory returns completed by operators & comparative figures for the 2008/09 financial year are included.
