With national regulation on the Spanish horizon, a major land company gears up for the internet

One of Spain's premier land casino groups, Casino Grand Madrid, exhibited impressive forward vision in March last year when it engaged with online gambling provider Playtech to develop internet operations ahead of the liklihood of a national liberalisation of the industry.

The fruits of that online casino & poker agreement are about to be realised, with GCM announcing this week that it plans to use the ICEi show in late January to launch Spain's first online casino platform ahead of imminent national regulation.

The company faced key questions through the process, such as avoiding player cannibalisation, integrating marketing campaigns, bringing visitors online & how to compete with global & recognised brands competing without the same regulatory constraints.

GCM representatives will additionally be discussing these issues at the ancillary 3rd International Casino Conference on 24 January 2011 at Earl's Court.
