After a puzzling delay, the Lesniak bill comes up for debate Monday.
It was crunch time in New Jersey as went to press this afternoon [European time] with the Lesniak bill seeking to legalise intrastate e-gambling (see previous reports) due to go before the state Assembly on what is hoped will be its last lap before the governor's signature into law.
The bill was meant to go before the House on January 6th, but was omitted from the schedule, deferring debate until January 10th.
A2570 has already survived committee stages & the state senate & now faces debate in the House, with the action due to start this afternoon Eastern Standard Time in the US.
Industry observers will be keenly watching the outcome of today's political moves, which could herald the first US state to legalise online gambling.
