Prestigious event renamed as part of tote acquisition deal

The Cheltenham Racecourse will rename The Cheltenham Gold Cup event âEURњ The Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup 2012âEURќ as part of UK bookmaker BetfredâEUR™s acquisition of the Tote.

The Cheltenham Gold Cup, a National Hunt chase in the United Kingdom, is widely regarded as the most prestigious of all National Hunt events by the horse racing fraternity.

Edward Gillespie , CheltenhamâEUR™s managing director said: âEURњI am delighted to confirm that our biggest race will be known as The Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2012.
