American land gambling supplier optimistic about legalised online gambling in the USA

Based on comments by top executives of the company at the recent G2E in Las Vegas, US land gambling supplier Bally Technologies is optimistic about the prospects of legalised online gambling in the United States, & has positioned itself accordingly.

This week the Philadelphia Enquirer took another look at the company, noting that it has launched a new Interactive division to oversee all mobile, Internet, & social initiatives, & has made interesting acquisitions that include Macro View Labs of San Francisco, which Bally snapped up in July this year. The company develops mobile apps & mobile websites, & some of its wares were on show in Las Vegas.

Bally spokesman Mike Trask revealed that some of Bally's games were already in the iTunes store.

"You can download several of our games now from an iTunes store," Trask said. "You can download them onto your iPhone, iPad, Droid, you name it, & practice for your next trip to the casino.âEURќIt's real exciting."

Trask also expanded on the company's online gambling strategy, describing the Internet as the next gambling frontier for major US companies.

"The goal, at the end of the day, is to provide the same experience for a player no matter where he's physically located . . . whether inside a casino, on a website, or while waiting in line at the grocery store." He added that the company wanted to provide mobile apps, mobile games, & online games the same way it has provided games & systems to brick-and-mortar casinos.

Phill.com claims that an estimated 16 million Americans engage in online gambling, wagering more than $6 billion a year on offshore websites.
