Illegal operators to be blacklisted

The Belgian Gaming Commission (BGC) has reportedly entered into an agreement with internet service providers (ISP) & financial institutions that will effectively block access to & empower banks to refuse transactions for unlicenced online operators.

The BGC will provide ISP's & banks with a black list of unlicenced "illegal" operators from January 2012 reports Dutch publication De Standaard.

Marjolein De Paepe from the Belgian Gaming Commission commented: âEURњGames of chance have always been forbidden, unless the gaming commission has issued a permit for them. Thanks to this agreement, we now have a powerful weapon in the fight against illegal online gaming, where before we could only wag our finger.âEURќ
