Latest communication from the PPA suggests it may not be
Hopes recently faded that influential US senators Harry Reid & Jon Kyl may be putting their weight behind a fresh federal internet poker legalisation attempt, but the trade association Poker Players Alliance appears to believe that the project is still alive.
Membership director Bryan Spadaro wrote in a recent email to members that the PPA is hopeful that a Reid-Kyl initiative could still act as a catalyst to get legislation through before the end of 2012.
âEURњIf these two well-regarded, highly-influential Senators can reach an agreement, the chances of the billâEUR™s success are greatly enhanced, even during a highly-charged presidential campaign,âEURќ Spadaro opined.
In an interview with Poker News, Frank Fahrenkopf, chief exec of the American Gaming Association, appeared to confirm the PPA perception, sayng: âEURњI know that Senator Reid & others are working very hard on a piece of legislation which would allow online poker with statesâEUR™ rights being respected âEURŠ I havenâEUR™t given up hope that something may yet be accomplished in the regular session.âEURќ
